The international journalistic competition “Words of Wine” is open: rules and deadlines are online

The rules of “Words of Wine” - the International Journalistic Competition on the wines of the Abruzzo Region - are online: 4 are the expected categories (press, TV and radio, web, photography), 2 are the awards for each category. The works published until August 10th can compete

The rules, the deadlines and the participation procedures for the “Words of Wine” were formalized. The International Journalistic Competition on the wines of the Abruzzo Region was presented in Palazzo Clerici in Milan, in the presence of important personalities such as the chefs Carlo Cracco and Gianfranco Vissani and the sociologist Renato Mannheimer.

The Competition is open to the authors of the journalistic reports, whose subject will be the quality wines of the Abruzzo Region, the territory of their production and the personalities related to the Abruzzo wines on the background of the art and nature of this land. These works should be published in one of the EU area countries, from February 13th to August 10th

The goal of the competition is to highlight the Abruzzo Region and its wines on the international media. This includes all the communication channels and media through which both the Region and its wines can be promoted: from news to videos, from narrative report to visual one.

In fact, the expected categories of the the competition are four: press (daily newspapers, specialized and non-specialized magazines); TV and radio; web (online newspapers and magazines, blog); photography. A special award will be also delivered to the category “literature”.

There will be two winners for each category, chosen by a technical Committee of experienced art and culture personalities, ideally chaired by the “personalities” of this Award: the worldwide famous artist Ettore Spalletti and the influential economist and professor Marcello De Cecco, which are both from Abruzzo.

The eight “Calici di Onice” (Chalices of Onyx) realized by the artist Ettore Spalletti will be the awards for the winners of “Words of Wine” during the ceremony that will take place in September.
