Abruzzo? Land of good wine. Many Italian and foreign passengers which arrive at the Abruzzo International Airport can see the captivating images and the multilingual messages of the advertising campaign "A Montepulciano d’Abruzzo pleasure".

All this thanks to the airport domination of the Consortium. This is an innovative type of communication which covers all the advertising spaces of the Abruzzo Airport, with posters and graphic elements situated in the hall, near the check-in desks and near the elevators.

This exclusive sponsorship is, for the Consortium, a further step towards the promotion and the internationalization of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and of the high-quality wines of Abruzzo, following the events such as the Journalism Award "Words of Wine" and the Media Tour at the wineries of the territory.

Thanks to its intercontinental flights, the Abruzzo Airport is the link between foreign visitors and the territory. The advertising campaign can then easily catch the attention of the international audience to which it is addressed (above all the audience from Germany, Great Britain and Northern Europe), and according to the export figures in 2012, it is crucial for the development of sales in wine industry.

Airport domination and the growing importance of the foreign markets were the issues discussed during the press conference held at the Abruzzo Airport on March 22, 2013, in the presence of Mauro Febbo, the Regional Councillor for Agriculture and Rural Development, Daniele Becci, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Pescara, Lucio Laureti, President of SAGA, Tonino Verna, the President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini d'Abruzzo and Alessandro Nicodemi, President of the Consortium Colline Teramane.

The Councillor Mauro Febbo highlighted that the positive export trend is the outcome of an effort undertaken for a long time and that involves the business fabric. Daniele Becci, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Pescara, underlined the potentially leading role of the wine sector for the regional economy.

As for the airport domination, Lucio Laureti, the president of SAGA explained: "We readily agreed to carry on with this collaboration in order to allow the passengers arriving in or departing from this Abruzzo Airport to immediately discover one of the most important products of the Abruzzo Region”.

The program of the activities of the Consortium at ProWein, the German Trade Fair for Wine and Spirits was presented during the conference.
